The bride was very sweet bride her mother was very nice as well. Mothers always want the best for their daughters and so can become a little overwhelmed on the big day.  Mothers are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure everything is taken care of so their daughter can relax and enjoy the moment. Because they want everything to be perfect for their daughters or sons, mothers will stress about how they will look concerning their beauty and their attire. As a mother myself, I understand this feeling, and one thing I always strive for is to help mothers of the wedding party relax and feel beautiful on this special day.

Over the years, I’ve learned that generally, moms are a little less sure about having someone they don’t know doing their hair and makeup. But, as it turns out, getting their hair and makeup done for their daughters’ weddings usually leaves them feeling wonderful and open to new ways of thinking about their personal beauty regimen. After the wedding is over, mother’s usually return to my salon as clients because they enjoy the feeling of a new haircut, color and even makeup options. Including your mother in the beauty service for your wedding party is the best way you can say thank you for all of her help and support.

It’s inspiring for me to know I helped someone to be encouraged by an updated version of themselves and the boost of confidence it creates for them!  Moms tell me all the time they end up looking and feeling 10 years younger with the proper makeup and hair. This is especially important on your wedding day as it gets them compliments all day and night, making it a very special day that both of you can share.

On this day, Ellen’s mom had a “Wow!” moment when she looked in the mirror after I finished her hair and makeup, something she wasn’t at first so sure she should participate in. This was her daughter’s day after all. Ellen encouraged her and both were very pleased!

It’s awesome to see the pictures from Zac and Ellen’s day. Rain didn’t take away from the beauty of this wedding! My compliments to L Photographie for capturing amazing images. It’s cool to be able to almost feel like you were there, just through seeing pictures!

Q: I’ve heard of the “Keratin” treatment, what is it exactly?

A: It is a smoothing process. It infuses your hair with extra Keratin, what your hair is already made of. I explain to my clients to picture their hair like a drinking straw with little holes in it all over. The Keratin goes in the hair and fills in the holes, making the hair smooth.

Q: Is it a branded treatment or just the method used to describe this type of straightening process?

A: The brand we use Is Coppola Keratin smoothing.

Q: How is the Keratin treatment different than Brazilian Blowout?

A: No harsh or drying chemicals like Formaldehyde. Think of it as an intense conditioning treatment that goes into the cuticle of the hair.

Q: Isn’t this type of treatment just for girls with curly, unruly hair?

A: Yes, that is the ideal client, however if someone has a lot of hair and it gets frizzy or fluffy in humidity this treatment will help you as well.

Q: Do you have a lot of straight-haired girls get the Keratin treatment? If I have straight hair, will I still have to flat iron my hair?

A: People with straight hair can get this service, but only if they have an abundance of hair. Thin fine-haired people may feel they don’t have any body to their hair after a treatment. And yes, it will decrease your blow drying time and effort with the flat iron but you may still want to put shape into your hair with a hot tool. Basically, after taking a look at your hair length and type, we’ll be able to give you a picture of what your results will look and behave like. Some clients will still need to use hot tools, while others will only need to use them very minimally.

Q: Can men get the service too?

A: Yes I have done the service on a few men, they love it. Men don’t want to spend the same amount of time on their hair that women do or like doing. It’s an excellent choice for them to tame their tresses.

Q: Can I get it if my hair is colored or has highlights?

A: Yes, as this is a conditioning treatment it is good for color treated/highlighted hair.

Q: How long will the process take if I have medium length hair?

A: About 2 1/2 hours.

Q:  How long will the process last?

A: About 3 months.

Q: How much does this process cost at Tami Scott Studio?

A: Short hair $150. Long hair $300. Long & thick hair $375+

We also have a 6 week version, it’s a weaker formula and a great way to try it out! The cost for this version is $75.

You want to do this on a day when you can go 3 days or 72 hours after the service without washing your hair, working up a sweat or being in too much humidity. The product has to be in the hair that long to adhere.

If your hair does get wrinkled during sleep or rain on it during this three days, you will have to flat iron as soon as possible to smooth the hair back out and keep the hair in the state it need to be for the treatment to be effective.
