My involvement in chosen charities

I was recently asked why I dedicate time and involvement in certain charities.

I believe we are all passionate about things that have touched our lives in one way or another. Whether it is because someone you know or care for is touched or effected by these things, or because you just believe in and want to be someone who can assist and touch others’ lives in a positive way by giving of yourself.

I have been in the hair and makeup and wedding industries for over 20 years. I meet so many women through what I do for a living. I hear all their stories and have the opportunity to follow their lives, as I tend to get to visit with them once a month or so. I love to help others feel better about themselves as well as having spent time sharing and visiting with me.

A lot of those women I meet because they are getting married or are involved in some one’s wedding. I love to see people in love and people who are family (even if not by blood.) I love knowing people are surrounded by others that wish them the best in their life endeavors. I am a romantic at heart and a big believer in positivity too.

My life has also been touched by the power of love, positivity and possibility. The energy that can be breathed into your life when you feel all those things makes you feel like you can accomplish or make it through anything. Everyone wants to know they have someone by their side who would be there for them, supporting & holding their hand no matter what! I know that Love has absolute Power. When you feel Love and Gratitude, wonderful things can happen. When you can add to that the possibility and hope, the power of all that energy is unstoppable. It can even be healing. Healing of all kinds of ways, physically and emotionally. Being a part of something larger than yourself, or even your group of family and friends, builds the power of that kind of love, hope, gratitude, possibility and positivity. It is a truly wonderful experience.

Wish Upon A Wedding is an organization that grants wedding wishes to couples whom one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Bright Pink is another charity that brings awareness to women about breast and ovarian cancer. These two organizations speak to me because of experiences I’ve had in my life or watched others I know and care about, go through. I believe because I’ve seen and felt the power of love, healing and success to overcome all odds.

May the recipients of what these two organizations do, give them the strength of all the positivity, possibility, love, hope and gratitude that they need to make dreams come true and healing happen!
